Landscape and Visual Appraisal and landscape design for a small-scale residential development of up to 7 new dwellings adjacent to the steeply incised wooded valley of the River Devon and dramatic gorge, on the fringes of the small settlement of Rumbling Bridge, nestling under the Ochil Hills. The LVA and landscape proposals package formed part of supporting information to enable a detailed application to be submitted. Through the robust assessment of the potential landscape and visual impacts and analysis of the site’s opportunities and constraints, a steading development with a ‘gate’ lodge set within a courtyard setting and swathes of open space, framed by an enhanced woodland setting, was realised.
